This painting depicts the scenic Shasta Valley just off Louie Rd. which lies north of Mt. Shasta. Included in this scene is a family of Sandhill Cranes. The cranes are becoming abundant in this region because the neighboring Shasta Valley Wildlife Area manage their refuge so it favors crane nesting habits.
I love Sandhill Cranes. They are magnificent birds with a wonderous bird call.
